The USAASF is always looking for talented, experienced and dedicated people to volunteer for the Foundation. Our volunteers bring a variety of professional and non-profit experience that they use to help us fund the future of artistic swimming.
Volunteer with us! If you are interested in building the sport of artistic swimming, we want to meet you! Please review our Standing Committees below, decide what interests you and submit an application. We also have Organizing Committees for all of the major fundraising events. Please also be aware that we collect information in the Pre Offer Disclosure form (link below) from all of our potential volunteers and trustees to be able to run background checks in accordance with our policies. In order to maintain confidentiality, you will need to reenter some of your personal information in the Pre Offer Disclosure. We shred this information immediately after running the background check.
The USA Artistic Swimming Foundation has five Standing Committees:
The Board Development Committee is focused on ensuring the efficient operation and continuous improvement of the USAASF board. It is responsible for ensuring changes to the USAASF bylaws to reflect the Foundation’s current operations are brought forward, and for ensuring necessary policies, procedures and processes are documented and in place. The committee also is responsible for recommending an appropriate slate of Trustees annually for election to the Board, meeting with nominees for the board, developing and conducting new Board member orientation, managing the Trustee self-evaluation process, onboarding volunteers, and conducting background checks of volunteers and Trustees.
The Fundraising Committee is charged with creating and executing a fundraising plan that drives the growth of the Foundation’s net assets. It creates and updates annually a three-year fundraising plan that outlines fundraising activities, donor profiles and fundraising goals, as well as evaluates all of the previous year’s fundraising activities and makes recommendations for improvement for the new fiscal year. This committee manages donor relationships and benefits.
The Grants Committee recommends grant awards by the USAASF that align with the Foundation’s mission and vision and ensures the process for determining awards is fair, consistent and efficient. It defines and manages the grant process, including timing and reporting, and communicates with stakeholders. The committee receives and reviews grant applications and recommends grant awards to the Board for its approvals. It also develops granting policies and procedures for the Foundation.
The Marketing & Communications Committee develops and executes the strategic communications and marketing plans that promote the mission and vision of the USAASF and advances the USAASF brand locally, regionally and nationally. The committee manages all of the Foundation’s social media, promotional materials and communications. It also owns the brand, conducts and analyzes market research, and develops marketing and communications policies and procedures.
The Finance Committee develops financial policies and procedures for the Foundation and manages the investments to protect and grow the corpus of the Foundation. They assure the books and records are maintained for proper reporting and any audits.
The Events Organizing Committees are responsible for planning and managing major fundraising events, including securing sponsors and donations. In 2021, we held major events in Los Angeles, Fort Lauderdale, and Reno.
